Jobin, who lives with his family in Kalangara, a flood prone region in the Alleppey district of Kerala, is an excellent orator who has won prizes in elocution competitions held at the district level. He harbours the dream of becoming a scientist at ISRO but fears that his desire will always stay a distant dream because his father who is an autorickshaw driver cannot support him financially.

Jobin's family lost their house during the devastating floods that hit Kerala in 2018. They were gifted a new place to live by a local NGO. Even though they have a well on their property, they need to buy and transport 100 litres of clean drinking water that lasts only for a week. Living in a water-logged area, they are wary of contracting malaria, dengue and other water borne diseases, especially during the monsoon season.

Jobin is an academically brilliant student. He scored A+ grade in all subjects in his Class 10 examinations. He is in Class 12 and is working hard to make the best use of his skills and talents. Value Education Trust is committed to empowering Jobin to realize his dream of becoming a scientist.
